Will Fisher to his mother
East Elk River, Tennessee

Dear Mother,

I will just drop you a line, as we are all pulled down ready to start. We have got to go to Decherd tonight to march with the brigade tomorrow. There is a report that they are now fighting to the front and this accounts for our going, I expect, but I don’t believe it. I got a letter from you night before last. The 102 Ohio relieves us. I will write soon to you.

While I am your boy,
Will G.
